Well, my dears, life is so much fun with you! You make your dad and me so proud.
Amber, you are growing so fast, and you're so strong! I can't hardly change you, even, because you kick so hard while you're laying on the changing table. I call you my little soccer girl. I'm so excited to find out what you will enjoy as you get older. Maybe you will like soccer! Or maybe you'll like to dance. Or maybe you won't enjoy atheletic things--although that's hard to believe now! You are so good at pushing yourself up off the ground, and you can almost sit by yourself! Lately you've learned to blow bubbles with your lips closed. You make this funny little spitting sound. Everyone thinks it's hilarious, and I think you know it. You met your Great-Grandma Ethel for the first time two days ago, and you made that noise all night long. When you weren't doing that, you were talking at the top of your lungs. You're a little ham. I love it.
Avery, you are such a curious little thing. You used to talk so much more than Amber, but these days you're more pensive. I'm sure in the end you will both be very talkative little girls! But these days I think you're more intrested in exploring. You are reaching out and grabbing things now. You reach out and touch my hair, but it's really short, so you don't usually get the chance to pull it. However, just this week, you were sitting in your second cousin Lola's lap. She's only two right now; I was holding you up while you were sitting there. She has long, curly red hair. It's really pretty, and I imagine you thought so too. You reached out and grabbed it. You didn't pull. You were just holding it. But Lola went crazy. She shouted, "SHE PULLED MY HAIR!!!" It's a good thing I was holding you, because she pushed you off her lap, marched to the corner, crossed her arms and pouted. Between you and me, she's a little spoiled. Way to put her in her place, Ave!
Girls, this Valentine's Day is even more special than all the rest. I never knew I had it in my heart to love like I love you. Thanks for making it so special.
I love you, babies. Sleep well tonight. <3
